Barack Obama has put a new “Fight the Smears” section up on his web site and I think it is a great way of using the internet to his advantage. Politics is a dirty business and the smears will be coming full force now that Obama is the democratic nominee.

I think posting the truth behind the lies on his web site is an excellent way of defending himself and the media attention it has grabbed so far has made it more viral than ever. Obama has made excellent use of the internet ever since his campaign has begun. He is on MySpace and Facebook, two of the top two social networking sites on the web.

Some of the smears I read on his site I had not ever heard of except for the tape rumor. I can see how easy it is to believe the lies if they are never addressed. I wouldn’t be surprised if other politicians follow this trend of fighting the smears. It shows that Barack Obama is not hiding and is willing to take on any smear tactic that comes his way.

Some people feel that he is just drawing more attention to the smears by addressing them online however, others feel that it is a great move on his part.

That actually a really good idea. I don’t know how I feel about Obama, but the creativity is impressive. There is way too much smear tactics used in politics. I need to go to Obama’s website and check out the fight the smears section.
