Right before giving his speech for winning the Democratic nomination, Barack Obama and his wife Michelle bumped fists. It is now being termed as the “Obama pound.” I have to say that the Obama’s are one of the first political couples that truly support each other.

I have seen many photos in the past where you can see the emotion in both Barack and Michelle’s eyes and how much Michelle supports her husband during this critical time. You can tell that they are both in it to win it and they are going to do it together as a team. I think the Obama pound will be talked about for a long time and it wouldn’t surprise me if the media makes a big deal about it each time they do it. It will probably become the couple’s trademark.

I thought it was touching and cool to see the gesture as it shows just how committed they are to each other. You can tell that not only are they husband and wife but they are best friends. I think the Obama pound symbolized how much they both have each other’s back. Barack Obama has made history and I hope he will continue to do so.
